I have been providing effective, personalized supplemental
education support services for Elementary and Secondary
students from South Surrey, White Rock, Surrey, Richmond,
North Delta, Burnaby and New Westminster since 1991.
My approach involves developing relevant lessons for
the student which closely follow the classroom teacher's
curriculum so that what is learned during tutorial sessions
will be directly applied to classroom learning.
I focus on "filling in the gaps" and teaching the foundation
concepts and skills that are essential for continued success
in future math courses. This is very important because in
math, all new learning builds strongly on prior learning.
I strive to help students develop a sense of confidence in their abilities
which in turn helps them to be more focussed and productive in the classroom.
I focus on helping students to become more responsible students and to
"learn how to learn." I encourage good work habits and organizational skills,
and help students develop effective study and test-taking strategies to support
classroom achievement.
I have worked with students of all ages,
at all academic levels, ranging from remedial
assistance lessons that focus on building a solid
base in key concepts and skills, to accelerated
enrichment lessons designed to challenge
advanced students.
